The AI Threat is a Myth

Yazaroo / Journal Entries / The AI Threat is a Myth

Every time a new technology emerges, people rush to tell me it is the end of my agency. Right now, the supposed existential threat to Yazaroo is AI. The reality is that AI threatens us in exactly the same way Wix and Squarespace did a decade ago, which is to say, not at all. Giving someone access to an AI generation tool does not mean they know how to build the right website for their business, just as giving them a drag-and-drop builder didn’t turn them into digital strategists.

What AI has actually done is create a massive operational opportunity. Yazaroo is already a very lean business running on an enviable 93% margin. When you couple that underlying efficiency with AI, it supercharges what we can produce. It allows us to cut through the weeds of admin, coding, and planning. We can take on more projects in less time, with fewer people. It is a lever for output, not a replacement for expertise.

This shift informs my vision for Yazaroo in 2026. We are moving beyond being a traditional web design and support agency to become a much more fluid creator of digital tools. We have already started building and releasing lightweight business tools into the market as a sandbox. We put them out there, see what works, and if a tool proves useful and gains traction, we will build on it.

We are building the things I find useful based on my own experience running businesses, and we are using AI to build them faster. It is a fundamental shift from simply servicing clients to actively creating the digital infrastructure they rely on.
