Launch of “rubbish” campaign in Guildford

We are very pleased to announce the launch of a new campaign in Guildford.

We were asked to come up with an idea for adverts to put on bins. Oakleaf, as a charity, was offered free spaces on bins all around the town until the end of the year.

This is great, but who want to advertise on the side of a bin?

Thats what we thought at first, but sometimes you have to lean into a negative and turn it into a positive with a bit of creative know-how.

We came up with the idea to create colorful ads that poked fun at themselves for being placed on bins, while conveying a strong and important message.

This is what Oakleaf had to say:

“We’re excited to launch our latest mental health awareness campaign in Guildford, supported by Guildford Borough Council and the creative minds at Yazaroo. This campaign features thought-provoking posters, designed by Ed Schofield and William Stannett at Yazaroo, which have been placed on bins throughout Guildford High Street. These posters encourage the public to “Bin Stigma Not Mental Health” and “Don’t Discard Your Mental Health. By placing the posters on bins, which are not typically associated with positive messages, the campaign delivers a powerful message, making mental health a visible and approachable topic for everyone in the community. We would love for the Guildford and Surrey community to help us get the message out there; to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. So, please do share this post and help us reach more people!
